Personal profile
University profile
Dr. Ashuwin Vaidya is Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Montclair State University. He is also the director of the Complex Fluids Laboratory where researchers conduct experiments as well do theoretical work. In recent years, with collaborators across the country, Dr. Vaidya has also started to work on problems in biophysics concerning the dynamics of amyloid-beta protein aggregation. He is generally interested in the mechanics and the thermodynamics of all of these problems. In addition, he is collaborating with MSU education researchers on issues surrounding math and science education with a focus on making 'creativity' a central theme of our curriculum.
Research interests
Dr. Vaidya's research interests lie in the general area of complex systems. More specifically, he works on problems of self-organization in fluid mechanics and pattern formation in fluid structure interaction.
