Dr. Jennifer Krumins is an ecologist whose research interests are focused on the interactions that influence microbial community dynamics like species diversity and nutrient cycling. Because microbially-mediated nutrient cycling and material exchange heavily influence ecosystem functioning and therefore biodiversity, she is particularly committed to understanding microbes within the context of whole food webs (multiple trophic levels).
Dr. Krumins research goal is to combine empirical studies and theoretical modeling to best address these complex interactions. Resolving mechanisms and contributing to a better understanding of microbial community and ecosystem processes is the focus of her research agenda.
