A case study on the use of robots in assembly processes

Abstract

The process of integrating robots in manufacturing cells should be carefully investigated before embarking on it. In this paper quantitative decision making techniques are used to improve the production rate of an assembly process. Inserting a "peg-in-a-hole" is the example used in developing our models.
