Abstract

A finite volume algorithm for the two-fluid plasma model has been developed. The algorithm performs well across plasma regimes spanned by MHD (Magnetohydrodynamics), Hall MHD, electrostatics and electromagnetics. This algorithm is currently being extended to multiple dimensions for which a two dimensional electrostatic code has been developed. In this paper the two-fluid algorithm is described, the difficulties encountered in extending the problem to multiple dimensions are discussed along with results obtained so far.
