Abstract

Droop-free control, adopted to manage distributed energy resources (DERs) in microgrids, has been studied to improve drawbacks of droop control such as large frequency deviations and power-sharing errors. Although existing droop-free control schemes can effectively share the power burden among controllable DERs with respect to their rated capacities, a theoretical understanding of system asymptotic stability remains an outstanding issue. To this end, this paper proposes a new droop-free control scheme that adds a stabilizer at the receiver end of the neighboring communication. The major advantage is that the proposed system can reach the normalized power consensus and theoretically guarantee asymptotic stability. Numerical simulations illustrate that the proposed design can maintain similar performance as the existing droop-free control schemes in terms of consensus accuracy and dynamic deviation, while effectively guaranteeing the system's asymptotic stability.
