Electrical immunoassay using protein functionalized microfluidic channels

Abstract

Current microbiological techniques used for protein biomarker detection, involve time consuming methods based on sandwich immunoassays [1], requiring expensive labeling. We successfully demonstrate electrical detection of anti-hCG antibody, useful for diagnosing infertility in women [2], at a concentration of 1 ng/ml in less than one hour.
