Abstract

The Slater KDP model is solved for all temperatures and with an electric field. Above Tc the specific heat behaves like (T-Tc)-12 and the polarizability like (T-Tc)-1. There is a first-order phase transition at Tc (latent heat). Below Tc the free energy is simply -|E|d (E=electric field, d=dipole moment).
