The angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) study of Na 0.7CoO2 crystals was presented. The crystals were grown by the flux method and measurements performed at the Advanced Light Source Beamlines 12.0.1 and 7.0.1 using a Scienta analyzer. Despite some similarities with the cuprates, the cobaltates show their own unique set of anomalous properties. The results show a strongly renormalized quasiparticle band, a hole-type Fermi surface, a large Hubbard U and a small Fermi velocity.
