Abstract

Developments in quantum cascade lasers with frequency stabilization, line narrowing and modulation studies were presented. Frequency modulation transfer function of the laser, mercury-cadmium-telluride detector and frequency discriminator system were discussed. The behavior and solutions to the problem of residual amplitude modulation in quantum cascade lasers were also presented.
