Abstract

Fused Deposition of Ceramics (FDC) and Sanders Prototyping (SP) have been used for rapid prototyping of various high quality piezoelectric components. Novel composite structures including honeycomb, volume fraction gradients (VFG), staggered rods, radial and curved composites, and actuators such as tube array, helical tube, spiral, and telescoping were fabricated and evaluated. In this paper, processing methods and electromechanical properties of some of the components for sensors and actuators are reviewed.
