Phase transitions due to size asymmetry in 2:1 and 3:1 hard-core model electrolytes were studied. Simulations were performed using fine-discretization methodology. Grand canonical Monte Carlo simulations with multihistogram reweighting were used for the study. Large multivalent ions were found to exhibit normal gas-liquid transitions. Extrapolation results suggested absence of such transitions for small multivalent ions with large monovalent counterions.
