Abstract
Previous studies established the strength duration curves for transesophageal cardiac pacing and verified the minimal detrimental effects on the hemodynamic states. A new method for defibrillation via the esophageal path has been developed that is minimally invasive and requires less energy than conventional means for successful cardioversion. Using this techniques successful defibrillation was performed several times in a number of anesthetized dogs.
