abstract = "This work-in-progress innovative practice paper describes the outcome-based evaluation of a doctoral Engineering Education Virtual Multi-Institutional Program showcase (EEVMP). There is a recognized need for ensuring a good fit between the graduate student and their program to support degree success. Simultaneously, it is exceedingly difficult for a student to determine best program fit. Prospective graduate students attended an EEVMP showcase which brought together for the first time 16 engineering education doctoral programs in a single session. Leveraging an outcomes-based evaluation framework, we examined the success of the EEVMP showcase. We used a concurrent triangulation mixed methods design where we collected both quantitative and qualitative data from students participating in the showcase and the program directors that organized the showcase. Specifically, we asked 'To what degree did the EEVMP in the U.S. help participants (prospective students and program directors) achieve the identified five program objectives?' Our results found that prospective students and program directors had very similar perceptions of the ability for the EEVMP to meet the program objectives. A shared perceived value was observed in learning about different programs in a singular setting. The results informed a second iteration of the EEVMP hosted in Fall 2024. Consistent with the outcomes, the objectives of the session were modified to remove the objective of building connections between students as the value of the forum was more highly rated for learning about different programs.",
